Location of the Targets and Dolls
Follow the road south out of town and keep your eyes on the right side of the road, we don't have a path at the moment but we will shortly, currently two uncompleted pallisades make it stand out well, and its just a few feet off the road. The Bow range is 20 tiles across, and there are patches of packed dirt marking the 20 tile marks. The ground is not straight, and it won't be anywhere else your fighting.
Repairing and Improving Dolls
Whether for archery targets or practice dolls, always examine them frequently to see what damage they are up to.
Never go above 50 damage or so on the targets, repair them, and your training weapons frequently. At 10+ fighting skill you will damage the targets extremely fast.
If your going to train for hours at a time at high skill, make sure you bring carpentry tools with you. If there are no carpenters on to repair them, Imp some up after your done, leaving all 10 dolls at 1QL is unacceptable, as even someone with 1 carpentry can Imp them to 5-6 fairly easily.
Limitations of Dolls and Targets.
Practice Dolls:
Highest Skill you can Train on them is 20, this applies to both fighting skills, and weapon skills.
Practice Dolls take damage at a rate of .5 damage per attack. Mauls, or a shovel, it still deals .5 damage per hit. I suggest training a different weapon if you manage to get the weapon skill to around 17-18, you'll be damaging the doll more frequently, at almost no skill gain.
Archery Targets: No data at the moment.
Everything else
A doll being destroyed by accident now and then is going to happen, It's alright, but if we find that dolls are disappearing left and right, a fence will be built and access will be restricted.
On that note, feel free to have someone make you a personal practice doll if you want, we don't really have much of a shortage on pumpkins at the moment so, its not much of a problem.
If someone has a private practice doll, be respectful of that, if someone sets one down don't start wailing on it without asking, having a doll Imped to 30 for you, just to find someone destroyed it while you went afk would certainly make me mad.
